The power of acts of kindness can’t be understated. They not only benefit the recipient, but enhance the giver’s wellbeing too, making it the very essence of human connection.
At Mountain View Adventist College, our Prep to Year 6 students recently engaged in a Colour Fun Run where fun was just the beginning. The run was designed to foster a spirit of generosity, service, and school unity.
Vibrant colours splashed across the college and students laughed and ran to help raise funds for a service trip supporting Year 11 students and select teachers to Fiji, engaging in community projects and renovation at a sister school.
“Service trips provide young people and staff with the opportunity to serve as well as develop a better understanding of what it means to be a positive contributor to society” says Miss Qiosese, the service trip’s coordinator.
Service is deeply ingrained in the ethos at Mountain View Adventist College. This marks the College’s tenth trip, with plenty more to come.
